July 4th - Steve purchased several hundreds of dollars of fireworks for our viewing pleasure. Rapid City restricts the lighting of fireworks within city limits.  Fortunately, across the street from Barb and Mike's is outside of city limits.

July 5th - Day of the amazing race.  Tom Svendsen's team were the winners...we decided that the next race will have different rules.  I think Tom may have broken 7 driving rules such as going through red lights, etc...just to win a Captain 11 bobble head. 

July 6th - Day of leisure.  Dinner at Wendy's.  The view from her deck is fabulous!  We spent most of the evening on the deck.  Elizabeth and I left about 10:30.

July 7th - The Smiths made their way to the northern Hills.  Gambled a bit at Deadwood and found a great Italian restaurant in Spearfish.

The streets of downtown Rapid City have life-size bronze statues of past Presidents.  Worth walking down the streets to see.
