Smith Family Gathering in Eureka, SD
The last time I was in Eureka, South Dakota, was 1991. At that time, the house had been sold, and I was removing the rock collection from the basement. If its been a while since you saw the rock collection, click on Visual History in Rocks
As I looked at the photographs from Eureka, it was surprising how little has changed. It looks brighter inside the house, and while the paneling installed in the '60s has been removed, the "brightness" can also be attributed to change of curtains. I also noticed Mrs. Koerner's shed, and that has not changed since the 1950s. I remember when the trees were planted along the curb in the '60s - these have grown considerably. The thing that really looks different is the school. Not sure why it looks unfamiliar....
