Smyth/McPhillips Farm Site - Sauk County, Wisconsin
The farm originally owned by John and Susan Smyth, and eventually sold to Patrick McPhillips, was located on this site. It is still uncertain whether it is in "old Franklin township" as it appears to be located outside Loretto.
The McPhillips were a close family and shared many good times at this location. This farm is one of the places that many generations remembered with great fondness. It is easy to see why this would have been a wonderful place to visit.
It is located north of Bear Valley on Highway N. Highway N (road goes up to Loretto). This summer we drove along Highway N, but went north to Keyesville rather than to Bear Valley.
There is a winding creek nearby with small well rounded mountains in the distance.
