At some point in the 1960s, our father, John Smith, adopted a new technology to record our family's history in pictures.  He traded in his Browning Camera for a Polaroid Camera and a second camera that allowed him to create slide shows.

WE loved the slides and the nights when dad set up the slide show player and screen was always a special night.  On some of these evenings we would make popcorn, and we would eat this snack, along with other treats, while watching these slides "come alive" in our living room.

These pictures are among those that were on these slides.  Over the years, most of these slides have been lost...not really certain if we left them back in Eureka or if they are packed away in someone's attic. Every once in awhile one of them will "pop up."  On this page are photos that were provided several weeks ago, and I personally have not been seen any of them since the 1960s.

There is one side benefit of dad making slides instead of regular photograhs.  The quality of these "photos" are quite crisp and has a feel that they were taken only a few days ago.

Dad and mom would set up all the toys on Christmas Eve.

Mom loved to make Christmas decorations.  This was the chandelier she created in the '60s.
