Bridget (Hill) Ryan purchase of land.  We saw her name listed in other land transactions around Harper's Ferry.  In this case, Mrs. James Ryan (Bridget) was shown to be the owner of a small farm.

Yes...there are several "Ryans" on this page...so are both related to our us?  We know that there were 5 distinct Ryan families in Allamakee, and in four cases, we were not related except through marriage.  In this case, Daniel is the one that interests us, as he his a relative.  Click to Enlarge.

No German Need Apply. James Ryan was a deputy sheriff in Allamakee, and may have been acting sheriff at the time these elections were held.
