Bit by bit the family starts moving out. By 1920 the three oldest Smith girls (Mary, Margaret and Catharine) have all moved out of the homestead. The only other tidbit of interest here is the fact that a Scottish cousin has moved in with the Smith family. According to the Census information, Padrick or Patrick Smith moved to America in 1905 which would have made him 12 years old. Who and where are Patrick’s parents at this time?
The following lists the Smith clan buried in St. Margaret’s Cemetery in Kimball, South Dakota.

I do not believe Ben Ryan is a relative of Frank. Years ago I asked Ruth (Ryan) Smith about Ben Ryan and she indicated that as far as she knew he was not related. In 1920 this census shows Ben Ryan living with the Frank Ryan family as a roomer.
Also, Frank states that his mother was from Massachusetts instead of New Hampshire. Early census records state Elizabeth Ryan, Frank’s mother, was from New Hampshire. Later census records indicate she was possibly from Massachusetts.
